Sober Living Program
At Hestia’s House, our program is built around one simple but powerful purpose:
to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where women can continue their recovery journey with dignity, support, and accountability.
We believe healing happens best in a space that balances compassion with clear expectations. The guidelines below are designed to protect every resident’s progress while fostering a sense of shared responsibility and community.
A Foundation of Sobriety
Sobriety is the cornerstone of life at Hestia’s House.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol, illegal drugs, and misuse of prescription medications.
To support this:
-
Random and/or scheduled drug and alcohol testing may occur
-
Relapse is taken seriously and may result in immediate discharge
Our intention is not punishment—but protection—for every woman in the home.
Commitment to Recovery
Recovery is an active, ongoing process. Residents are expected to:
-
Attend a minimum number of weekly recovery meetings (AA, NA, SMART Recovery, etc.)
-
Participate in regular house meetings
-
Engage in a personal recovery plan, including sponsorship or mentorship when possible
This shared commitment creates a strong, supportive community.
Curfew & Structure
A consistent routine helps create stability and peace of mind.
-
Weekday and weekend curfews are in place
-
Any extensions must be requested and approved in advance
Structure is one of the quiet ways we support long-term success.
Visitors & Personal Boundaries
To maintain safety and respect within the home:
-
Visitors are allowed during designated times
-
No overnight guests permitted
-
Guests must remain in common areas
-
Visitors under the influence are not allowed
These boundaries help preserve a calm and secure environment for all residents.
Shared Responsibility: Chores & Cleanliness
A well-kept home contributes to emotional well-being.
-
Weekly chores are assigned
-
Residents are responsible for maintaining their personal space
-
Shared areas must be kept clean and respectful
-
Periodic room checks may occur
We take pride in creating a space that feels like home for everyone.
Growth & Productivity
Each resident is encouraged to move forward with purpose.
Residents must actively engage in one of the following:
-
Employment
-
School or vocational training
-
An approved volunteer or job-search program
Documentation may be required to support participation.
Financial Responsibility
Learning stability includes financial accountability:
-
Rent is due on a scheduled basis (weekly or monthly)
-
A security deposit may be required
-
Residents are responsible for their personal expenses
We aim to help residents build sustainable, independent futures.
Respectful Living
Hestia’s House is a place of mutual respect and safety.
-
Violence, threats, or harassment are not tolerated
-
Stealing is strictly prohibited
-
Residents must respect others’ privacy and belongings
-
Quiet hours are observed
Every woman deserves to feel safe, seen, and respected here.
Medication Safety
To ensure the well-being of all residents:
-
All prescription medications must be disclosed
-
Medications may need to be securely stored
-
Sharing medications is strictly prohibited
Safety and transparency are essential to a healthy environment.
Discharge & Accountability
Accountability is part of growth.
-
Violations related to substance use may result in immediate discharge
-
Other rule violations may involve warnings, opportunities to correct behavior, or discharge
Our goal is always to support success—but also to uphold the integrity of the home.
